Washing Machine (Washer)
E7

The E7 error code signals a problem with the water level sensor. This sensor is crucial for detecting and maintaining appropriate water levels during wash cycles.

One common warning sign is that the washing machine empties every time you try to start it. In certain situations, it may not even start a cycle at all, in which case a specialist will need to inspect the sensor to detect the issue

Possible causes

  • Faulty level sensor:
    • The sensor itself might be damaged or malfunctioning, providing inaccurate readings.
  • Wiring issues:
    • Damaged or loose wiring connections to the sensor could be affecting its ability to communicate with the control board.
  • Blocked pressure hose:
    • The small hose that connects the sensor to the tub might be obstructed, preventing accurate water level readings.
  • Control board problems:
    • In rare cases, the control board might be faulty and unable to process sensor readings correctly.

Troubleshooting the E7 Error Code

  1. Try a hard reset:
    • Disconnect the washing machine from power for at least 30 minutes. This can sometimes clear temporary glitches or errors.
    • Reconnect the power and try running a cycle. If the error persists, proceed to further troubleshooting.
  2. Check the pressure hose:
    • Locate the small hose connecting the level sensor to the tub, usually found at the bottom rear of the machine.
    • Ensure it's clear of any blockages or kinks.
  3. Inspect the sensor and wiring:
    • Disconnect power and carefully examine the sensor and its wiring for any signs of damage or loose connections.
  4. Test the sensor (if you have electrical knowledge):
    • Use a multimeter to test the sensor's resistance. If it's faulty, it'll need replacement.
  5. Seek professional help:
    • If the issue persists or you're not comfortable with electrical repairs, consult a qualified technician for diagnosis and repair.

Additional Tips

  • Avoid overloading: Overloading can affect water levels and potentially strain the sensor.
  • Ensure proper installation: Make sure the machine is leveled correctly, as tilting can also affect water level readings.
  • Consult your user manual: Refer to your specific model's manual for any additional troubleshooting advice or error code definitions.
